I have an extra big soft spot for my returning babies. Just a year ago, I had the pleasure of photographing Olive for her newborn session and even before that, I photographed her mommy’s maternity session. We’ve come a long way, baby girl!
When Olive’s mom contacted me about doing Olive’s first birthday & cake smash session, I was so excited to reconnect and even more excited to see how much Olive had grown. Mom was looking for something to compliment Olive’s first birthday party, which consisted of a very boho safari vibe.
It took me a little while to figure out how I was going to take something that was seemingly done in more masculine tones and spin it with a girl flair. As the ideas started to come together, I grew more excited to build this this set and theme.
I love creating one of a kind set-ups and providing my clients with a personal and unique session that hopefully goes beyond their expectations. I loved how the safari animals and rainbow came out and especially loved the extra touches of pampas moss and twinkle lights.
As you can see, Olive was a little undecided on how she felt about everything. Having a great time one minute and not so much the next. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to make it for a splash in our tub (Olive was definitely not feeling that), but overall, we all had a great time celebrating and love how it all turned out.

Before all the cake smash fun, mom chose my Glitter Package, which includes classic portraits and outfit change. These came out so sweet and I love the simplicity of capturing sweet Olive!
